New Life

I’m a lucky woman.

I have not one, but two passions. Two things that bring me great joy and fullfillment and a sense of accomplishment. Two things that make me see beauty all around me. Photography and pregnancy/birth are important to me in different ways, but sometimes my two passions collide and I get to do both at once. That’s some kind of heaven, let me tell you.

Last week I was honoured and blessed to be able to take photographs for my dear friend Phoebe (who was present for Julianna’s birth, taking care of Bella) during her last days of pregnancy, and present again to photograph the beautiful home waterbirth of her second son, Caleb.

Here are a few photos from her maternity session.

I cannot tell you how much I love the wide angle of the 17-50...

  11. These maternity images are so very unique and creative. I love each and every one for so many different reasons. I especially love the silhouette of the couple kissing…gorgeous image! I adore the perspective and comp of the last one!

  12. Hi Jeanette. I came across your blog via Kate’s (sweet/salty) blog and flickr.
Kate is a dear close friend of mine, but it sucks that she is all the way over in Nova Scotia and I’m here in B.C.
I am speechless when it comes to your photos. These maternity ones make me want to get pregnant again. I actually loved being pregnant. Kate took some pictures of my my belly when I was.
When I found out you were in Phoenix, I almost cried, b/c I would have loved for you to shoot my son! Of course, I am biased (like all Mothers) when I say my son is pretty adorable…although a little evil genius.
Ah well, I don’t have a blog for you to view any photos of my son…but maybe somehow I can send you a pic sometime.
I just wanted to say how much i LOVE your blog and your children are the most beautiful I’ve seen (besides mine of course! haha)
Here’s to Kate and her family and a speedy recovery of Liam and Ben. It’s nice to know there are so many caring people out there for her right now.
